YawSTOP helps save lives, time and money for everyone operating suspended cargo.

YawSTOP is a patent pending solution that has been developed by the Norwegian industry company Kolberg Caspary Lautom AS, which has more than 100 years’ heritage from blue chip industries.

YawSTOP uses a unique gearing mechanism that enables the unit to produce a continuous counter-torque to the suspended cargo as long as power is supplied to the unit. The crane-operator can remotely rotate and lock the cargo at any angle without the need for personnel with tag-lines. YawStop is a fully scalable concept and can be adapted to any load. The first version handles cargo up to 20 metric tons.

KCL FRF is an automatic system replacing the traditional forerunner. The system is used in combination with YawSTOP when a forerunner is required (e.g. off-shore operations). The system may be used separately for automatic attachment of load hook.

We are cooperating with DNV GL to develop a standard for rotation control in lifting operations.
